If you are currently renting through the Framingham Housing Authority you could be eligible for the Section 8 Homeownership Program.

The Section 8 Homeownership Program works much like the Section 8 Rental Program except that the subsidy you receive is applied toward the mortgage rather than towards a rent payment. To be eligible for the Homeownership Program, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be eligible for Section 8 rental assistance program
• Be employed full time (30 hrs/week) for at least a year
• Be in full compliance with your lease
• Family must be first time homeowner
• Attend First Time Homebuyer Course and receive certificate
• Satisfies the minimum income requirement
• Can pay 3% down payment of which 1% has to be own funds
